Marion E. LaFountain passed away peacefully at the Wells Nursing Home in Johnstown, NY on Saturday February 23, 2019. She was 89 years old. Born on September 15, 1929 in Barkersville, NY, she was the daughter of the late William Steele and May Tindall Steele.

Mrs. LaFountain was a homemaker and took great pride in taking care of and spending time with her children. In her leisure, Marion enjoyed crocheting and playing rummy with her sisters. She is predeceased by her husband, Elmer LaFountain Sr, sisters, Edna Miller and Hazel Woodcock and granddaughter Loraine LaFountain.

Survivors include her three sons, Henry G. LaFountain of Berwick, PA, Elmer LaFountain Jr. of Hudson Falls, NY and his girlfriend Cherri Dickinson and Keith R. LaFountain of Broadalbin, NY and his girlfriend Joanne Lavoy, one daughter Diana L. LaFountain of St. Frances, WI, grandchildren, Henry Jr, Charity, Arthur, Nicole, Mark, Tyler, Jason, Jackie and Deseri and many great-grandchildren. Family and friends may call from 5-7 pm at the Tunison Funeral Home 105 Lake Ave. Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 on Thursday February 28, 2019.

Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm at the Funeral Home. There will be a graveside service at 11:00am Friday, February 29, 2019 at The Barkersville Cemetery, Southline Road, Galway, NY. Memorial donations can be made to the charity of one’s choice.
