OBITUARY Marion “M.P.” Pinkney Rust Jr. June 4, 1930 – February 1, 2019 MP Rust Jr., was born in Midlothian, TX on June 4, 1930 and peacefully passed away on February 1, 2019. He was the seventh child born to Marion Pinkney and Sonia Rust. He joined the Marines on March 6, 1948 at the age of 17.

He served in the Korean War and received an honorable discharge in 1952. He was awarded the Purple Heart Medal, the Presidential Unit Citation, the Korean Service Medal and the United Nations Service Ribbon. He began his life long career in the blue print and reprographics business which at Raney Reproduction, Ridgeway and retired as a manager of Thomas Reprographics in the mid 1990’s.

From that point on he devoted his days caring for his wife, Jimmie, who had suffered a stroke. MP was a lover of dogs, loved spending time fishing and mowing on the family farm. MP was a thoughtful and caring husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

He touched many people’s lives and will be greatly missed by all that knew him! He was predeceased in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Jimmie Louise Rust, an infant daughter, Bonnie Lyn, four brothers and two sisters. He was loved by and shared his love with two sons, one step son and one stepdaughter.

Survivors Sons Joe and wife, Debbi, Roy and wife Beth, step children James Powell and Carlita Bradshaw. Grandchildren Troy South, Alan and Jason Powell, Lance and Sydney Rust, Lane and Blake Rust and Lauren and Alex Ewings, KYLE AND Sophia Rust, Corey Keese and Leslie and Joseph Price and one sister, Mary Lee Robertson. He leaves behind 8 great grandchildren and one due in April.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the VA Hospital, Harris Hospice, his nurse, Valerie and aid Jessica. Our biggest thanks go to Dorothy Jackson and Shante Washington who lovingly cared for him during the last two years.
