Butterfield, 90, of Chippewa Falls, died Friday, January 4, 2019 at Home Suite Home in Tilden. Marjorie was born March 10, 1928 in Chippewa Falls, the daughter of George and Sylvia (Norton) Campbell. On November 3, 1945, Marjorie married Russell H. Butterfield.
Marjorie is survived by two sons, Russell (Sandy) Butterfield of Chippewa Falls and Fleet (Jean) Butterfield of Strum; three daughters, Deb Mai of Chippewa Falls, Anne (Tom) Madison of Iron River and Renee (Mike) Thompson of Chippewa Falls; one brother, James (Henrietta) Campbell of Chippewa Falls; 13 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 15 great great grandchildren. Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Russell on April 6, 2008; four infant children; one son-in-law, Rick Mai; five brothers, Henry, David, John, Gerald and Patrick Campbell; 11 sisters, Kay Anderson, Lucile Holst, Marilyn Osborn, Elizabeth Nelson, Patsy Jo Robbins, Hope Strader, Judy Balow, Odeal Rada, Pearl Norton, Alice Campbell and Avis Globensky. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 9 at Holy Ghost Church in Chippewa Falls.
The Very Rev. Justin Kizewski will be celebrant of the funeral Mass. Interment will be in Hope Cemetery in Chippewa Falls.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 8 and from 11 a.m. until Noon on Wednesday at the Horan Funeral Home in Chippewa Falls. The ladies of Holy Ghost will recite the rosary at 4 p.m. and there will be a Christian vigil service at 5:30 p.m. both on Tuesday at the funeral home. Marj’s family expresses their deep gratitude to Home Suite Home Assisted Living and Mayo Clinic Home Health & Hospice for their loving care.
AFTER SERVICE NOTICE: Funeral services for Marjorie A. Butterfield were held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 9 at Holy Ghost Church in Chippewa Falls. The Very Rev. Justin Kizewski was celebrant of the funeral Mass and officiated at the prayers of interment in Hope Cemetery in Chippewa Falls.
Music during the Mass was provided by Judy Brist, Beth Martinek and a solo was sung by Fleet Butterfield. Readings were given by Anne Madison. Gift bearers were Debra Mai and Renee Thompson.
Casket bearers were Kim LaFlex, Thomas A. Madison, Rick Mai, Douglas Thompson, Lori Trowbridge and Sara Wundrow. Tuesday afternoon the ladies of Holy Ghost recited the rosary and Tuesday evening Rev. Kizewski led the family, relatives and friends in a Christian vigil service at the funeral home.
