Marjorie Mae Palmer Kinion was born on April 24, 1930 in the Greenbrier Community near Adair, Oklahoma to George and Lexi Palmer. She departed this life on February 7, 2019 at the age of 88 years, 9 months and 14 days, surrounded by her loving family. Marjorie married Don Kinion, Sr. on June 1, 1947 near Adair, OK and they made their home in the Greenbrier Community.

They had four children, Donald Ray Kinion, Jr. (Skeeter) and wife, Debbie of Locust Grove, OK, Deborah Joyce Hamill and husband Roy of Pryor, OK, Darrell Glen Kinion and wife Elizabeth of Broken Arrow, OK and Deanna Sue Vivion and husband Darvin of Pryor, OK. Marjorie was the oldest sibling of 12 children. She had 3 sisters and 8 brothers, Bobbie Palmer, Norma Caldwell, Verl Palmer, Patsy Griffith, Orville Palmer, Tony Palmer, Carolyn Tunin, Twins Eddie and Freddie Palmer, Dink Palmer and Billy George Palmer.

She worked for Patterson’s Flowers for 5 years and Weaver’s Men’s Store for several years but most of her life she was a hardworking housewife and mother. Marjorie had the sweetest personality and smile and was a compassionate and kindhearted Christian lady who loved people and life itself. She loved being with her family and was a devoted wife and mother.

She was a charter member of the Greenbrier Free Will Baptist Church and a Deacon’s wife, active in the women’s auxiliary. She taught Sunday school and Bible School for many years. She enjoyed gardening, canning, planting flowers, country and gospel music.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 11, 2019 at 10 a.m. in the Greenbrier Free Will Baptist Church with Reverend Derek Bolin officiating. Interment will follow in the Benge Cemetery at Strang, OK with Shane Cresswell, David Kinion, Geoff Kinion, Dan Vivion, Tommy Holcroft, Luke Falkenberry and Dalton Cresswell serving as casketbearers. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 10, 2019 in the Shipman’s Funeral Chapel from 3-5 p.m. To leave a message to her family, please see her tribute at www.

Marjorie’s grandchildren are Shane Cresswell, David and Diana Kinion, Geoff Kinion, Dan Vivion, Dana and Tommy Holcroft and Jacqueline and Luke Falkenberry; her great grandchildren are Dalton Cresswell, Katy and Courtney Holcroft, Abby Kinion-Young, Gabriel, Dylan and Joey Kinion and Paris and Roman Falkenberry.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Kinion, Sr., her parents, one sister, Norma Caldwell and two brothers Billy George and Verl Palmer. Special thanks to her Grandson Dan, Late Sister Norma, Sister in laws Leta Mae and Linda, and Niece Lynette for taking such wonderful care of her for many years and to Lisa Cornish, Rhonda Necessary and Roxanne Thompson of Carter Hospice.
