Obituary of Marjorie Frye Biscoe – Marjorie Ree Strider Frye, age 86, passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Frye was born in Montgomery County on December 10, 1931, to Cicero Hammer Strider, Sr. and Mary Lena Belch Strider. She was a member of Page Memorial UMC, a retired cafeteria worker, and a den leader for Cub Scouts.

She and her husband were active in establishing the Food Pantry in Biscoe and were recognized with a dedication of the “Buck and Marjorie Frye Community Building”. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Rev. Lacy Verlin “Buck” Frye; brothers, John, Arthur, C.H., Charles, and Lawrence Strider; and sister, Elizabeth Key.

She is survived by one daughter, Kelly F. Morgan and husband, Randy, of Biscoe; one son, Roger Frye and wife, Karen, of Troy; one brother, Herbert Strider and wife, Georgia, of Aurora, Colorado; one sister, Sybil Lewis of Asheboro; three grandchildren, Justin Frye and wife, Emily, of Cheraw, SC; Kristin Jones and husband, Calvin, of Asheboro; and Allie Morgan of Biscoe; and one great-grandchild, Tinley Frye. The family will receive friends Saturday, November 24, 2018, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, November 25, at Page Memorial UMC with the Rev.

Vic Hill and Rev. David Beck officiating. Interment will follow in Biscoe Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Page Memorial UMC or Food Pantry in Biscoe, PO Box 88, Biscoe, NC 27209, or Hospice of Randolph County, PO Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204.
