Obituary for Mark James Kelley Mark James Kelley, age 50, died very suddenly on Monday, July 2, 2018. He was born July 15, 1967 in Lansing, MI to James and Cheryl (Feazel) Kelley and lived in the Muskegon area since 2005. He married the former Heidi L. Edenburn on January 22, 1994 in Lansing and she survives him.

Mark graduated from Mason High School where he received 26 medals for his achievements in Track & Field. He earned two bachelors degrees from Michigan State University – his first was a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction Management and his second was a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Mark currently worked for the State of Michigan Department of Corrections as a Registered Nurse and was affectionately given the name “Marky Mark” by his patients whom respected Mark because he gave them respect.

Mark also currently owned and operated Mark Kelley Residential Builders and was very passionate about the homes he created. He was a gifted craftsman which showed in the woodwork and carpentry. Mark was very knowledgeable attributed to his love of reading.

He also enjoyed time spent on his motorcycle – even giving it the name “Athos”. He also enjoyed camping with his family when the girls were younger. Mark was also physically active and enjoyed bicycling and running.

Just this past weekend, he ran the 5K Firecracker Race in Manistee. As a bicyclist, he twice rode the DALMAC to Mackinac with his wife, Heidi. One of the most memorable family traditions was a trip to Zhender’s in Frankenmuth at Christmas time for a chicken dinner.

He was a great husband, father, son and brother who will be missed intensely by those who loved him, even his Brittany Spaniel, “Milo”. SURVIVORS include his wife, Heidi L. Kelley of Whitehall; 2 daughters, Nicole (Keeghan) Semans of Grand Haven, Amber Kelley of Whitehall; his parents, Jim and Cheryl Kelley of Mason, MI; 1 brother, Blaine (Amy) Kelley of Williamston, MI; Heidi’s parents, Kurt and Julie Edenburn of Manistee; 1 brother-in-law, Kurt Edenburn of Montague, MI; 1 sister-in-law, Monica (Mark) Fett of Brethren, MI; several nieces and nephews and 1 great niece. A CELEBRATION OF LIFE will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, July 7, 2018 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100 with Rev.

John H. Brown officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, 12-1pm Saturday. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Habitat for Humanity.
