Marlene Affe June 26, 1932 – February 28, 2019 Share this obituary View/Sign Guest Book CHESHIRE MARLENE AFFE “Loving mother, sister and aunt”. Marlene (Lanese) Affe passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side on February 28, 2019 at Elim Park Baptist Home in Cheshire. Marlene was born June 26, 1932 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Vincent J. and Mary ( Bellotti ) Lanese.

She was a graduate of Wilby High School. For many years, Marlene was a parishioner of St. Lucy’s Church and then a communicant of St. Leo the Great. Prior to her retirement, Marlene was employed as an inspector at Lux Clock (Robertshaw) and Airpax Corp.

in Cheshire. After her retirement Marlene joined the Waterbury YMCA where she participated in water aerobics, making many friends and eventually becoming an instructor herself. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and was known for her excellent Italian cooking, especially her famous eggplant which was her family’s favorite.

Marlene enjoyed 60 years of friendships, gatherings and card playing with the ladies of the Irion St. “Club”. She leaves behind her daughters Lisa (Richardelli) Bossoli and her husband Jon of Venice, FL. , Crista (Richardelli) Mango and her husband Joseph of Southington, her brothers Robert Lanese (Carol) of Southbury, James Lanese (Lorraine) of Newfane, VT.

, and Thomas Lanese of Waterbury, her sister Patricia Marrone (Michael) of Waterbury, her sister-in-law Delores Lanese of Waterbury, and several loving nieces and nephews with whom she was close to throughout their lives. She was predeceased by her brother Vincent D. Lanese. .

Her family would like to thank the staff and caretakers at Elim Park, where she made her home for the past year, making new friends to play cards and enjoy meals with. Arrangements: Funeral services and burial in Calvary Cemetery will be held at a date and time to be announced. Chase Parkway Memorial/Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway is entrusted with arrangements.
