Marlene Beth Peasley, aged 81, of Grand Rapids, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, September 17, 2018. Marlene worked at the United States Federal Probation Department, retiring from that position in the mid-2000’s. After retirement, she enjoyed working as a demonstrator at Family Fare in Sparta.

Marlene had a love of horses and acted as an equestrian 4-H leader for many years, spending her vacation at the Kent County Youth Fair each year. She spent many happy hours planning and cultivating her beautiful flower and butterfly gardens, enjoying every minute. She and her husband were also avid bird lovers and enjoyed their many feathered friends throughout the years, as well as camping and traveling, the Smoky Mountains being one of their favorite destinations.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Arlene (Stokers) Lange, her sister Sandra (Lange) Gamble, and her loving and devoted husband, Lawrence, who passed away on February 11, 2017. Marlene will be lovingly remembered by her children Julie (Craig) Hankinson, Beth (Jeff) Schilling and Kris O’Herin, 5 Grandchildren, 1 Great-Granddaughter, several nieces and nephews, and the good friends that kept her spirits lifted these last several years.
