Marlene entered into this world on November 12, 1945 in Gilmer, Texas to Martin amd Arlene Bonner. She and her brother Arthel were raised by thier grandparents John and Bertha Bonner. Marlene recived her education in The Gilmer Inderpendent School District as part of The Class of 1965.

While at Gilmer High she was a graceful member of the Drill Team as a BatonTwirler. In 1962, Marlene married Barry W. Jeffery, had one child and proudly named him Micheal Antonio. Marlene moved to Dallas in 1964 and gained employment at Children’s Medical Center.

On January 7, 1967 she united in marriage and life to Jessie Bundred Jr. No children were born to this union but they open thier hearts and home her niece VeRonica Thomas who she lovingly labeled her “Godgiven Daughter” and raised her as her own. Marlene decided to return to school and received her High School Diploma (GED) in 1982. Not stopping there, she continued her education by enrolling in Eastfield College and gained her degree in Child Development, as well as graduating from Southern Bible Institute in 1986.

She made ends meet and supported her family working for Prior Gasket and Children’s Courtyard. Marlene was a faithful memeber of the Christian Missionary Baptist Church where she worked endlessly as a Choir Member, Director of the Youth Department, Director of the BTU, Member of the Mission Society, Sunday School Teacher and a Deaconess. Marlene will be welcomed Home by those who preceded her in death.

Her parents: Martin and Arlene Bonner, Grandparents: John and Bertha Bonner, Brother: Arthel Bonner Sr, Sister in Law: Dorthy Bundred, and special cousin Barbara “Baba” Stearns. She leaves her memories to be cherished by her loving husband of 51 years Jessie Bundred Jr, Son: Michael Jeffery (Rose), Daugther: VeRonica Thomas, Sister: Sharyn McKelvey-Stewart, Sister in Law: Alvie Jimmerson. 10 Grandchildren: Natarshia Ford, Antonio Gabriel, Tiesha Brown-Ray (Vernon), Micheal Gabriel Sr., Elisa Brown, Lanicia Gabriel, Fatima Ford.

Ermonica Thomas, Aristedra Scott and Monyeal Thomas. 13 Great Grandchildren: Jordyn Ray, Jai’lyn McChriston, Paris Williams, Tora Williams, Gabrielle Williams, Nakayla Brown, Brashard Booker Jr,. Michael Gabriel Jr., Kinise Pryor, Kinard Pryor, Traelyn Adams, Ta’nia Adams and JaMarcus Gabriel.

Those she raised and fostered: Antquette Lee, Janay Tatum, Queterrica Branch and Devan Wallace. God Daugthers: Essie Bundred and Shawanna Speed. An abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
