Marlene Joan Hubbard April 26, 1934 – May 18, 2019 Share this obituary Upload Photo| View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences Marlene Hubbard, age 85, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 18th, at 10:05 p.m. in Tomball, Texas. Marlene was born on April 26, 1934, along with her identical twin sister Ilene, in Minot, North Dakota to Harry & Amanda (Quandt) Heuer. Marlene, Ilene and their brother Vance, attended Panhandle High School where both girls were cheerleaders and graduated Valedictorian and Salutatorian respectively.

After graduation, Marlene married Donald Swift Hubbard and they had 2 children, Kent and Kathy. In 1967, the family packed up and moved to Houston, TX where Don accepted a job with Gulf Oil (Chevron) and Marlene partnered up with Charles Rimmel and built Medical Dental Management (MDM) Inc. in the mid-70’s. She continued working for MDM until her retirement at 78 years old.

Marlene loved to travel with family and friends, especially with her sister Ilene. She was a sports fanatic and a devoted fan of the Houston Astros, Houston Rockets and all Aggie sports. She was a National Senior Master Bridge player.

Marlene was an excellent cook and loved planning dinners to the delight of her family and friends. Marlene is survived by her son Kent Hubbard, wife Donna from Tomball, TX and his children Laura Gray, husband Bryan who reside in Fair Oaks Ranch, TX and Michael Hubbard, wife Melissa of Sugar Land, TX. Her daughter, Kathy Knight, husband Martin of Addison, Alabama and their children Kara, James & Daniel.

Her niece Michelle, husband Damon Runyon of Albuquerque, NM and Chris, husband Bryan Black of Penfield, NY. Sister-in-law Darlene Sparks of North Carolina, nephews Johnny Eklund of Porter, TX, Michael Eklund of Houston TX and Donna Stone of North Carolina. Sister-in-law Joan Heuer of Casper Wyoming, nephews, Kevin, Brad, Jeff, and Brent.

Marlene had 8 great grandchildren which she adored and loved; spoiling them with chocolate every time she saw them, to the dismay of their parents. She is proceeded in death by her husband Don Hubbard, parents Harry & Amanda Heuer, twin sister Ilene, husband Bill Hansen, brother Vance and her good friend and business partner, Charles Rimmel. Grave-side services will be held on Saturday, May 25th at 11:00 a.m. at Hill Country Memorial Gardens in New Braunfels, Texas.
