Obituary for Martha Ann Caza (Schuller) Martha Ann Caza (Schuller), age 82, passed away in Marysville, Michigan on April 21, 2018. Martha was born on a farm in New Bavaria, Ohio in 1935 to Arthur and Martha (Gilgenbaugh) Schuller. She was one of 11 children.

During her childhood and young adult years, Martha was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in New Bavaria, Ohio. As a young woman, Martha moved to Michigan where she created a new life far away from the family farm. She met and later married John “Jack” Caza.

They briefly lived in Windsor, Canada, Sandusky, Ohio, and Detroit, Michigan before settling down in East Detroit where they raised their children. Martha and Jack raised 6 children before moving to Fort Myers, Florida in 1986. As a young wife and mother, Martha worked several clerical jobs.

At one time, she was a telephone switchboard operator. She was formerly employed at John Christian Bindery in East Detroit (now Eastpointe), as well as General Electric, an NBC TV affiliate in Fort Myers, FL. A little known fact about Martha is she was very good with numbers and could frequently recall a long series of numbers with little effort.

Martha was also quite proficient on a computer, using email, Facebook, paying her bills online, and playing Solitaire or MahJong. Martha always took great pride in her appearance; she was an attractive woman with a quick smile and and an even quicker wit. The first musical instrument Martha learned to play was an organ at home on the family farm.

She could also play the guitar. She is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, John Caza, her parents Arthur F. and Martha S. Schuller, and brothers Melvin Schuller, Kenneth Schuller, Norbert Schuller, and her sisters Lillian Rall and Helen Teeter. Martha was a member of Church of the Resurrection of our Lord in Fort Myers, FL and a longtime resident of the Seven Lakes Community.

In her leisure time, Martha enjoyed playing Rummikub with her friends from Seven Lakes as well as shopping at Bealls, her favorite store. Upon her death, Martha wished to relay the following message: “My children have been the joy of my life. I’m so proud of each of you.

We’ve had good and bad times and I love each and everyone of you equally. Jack, if I had to do it all over again, I’d do the same thing”. She is survived by her six children: five daughters are Cheryl Newman (Ernest), Helen Bixler (James), Jackie Lamprecht (Gary), Tamara Caza, Robyn Mitar (George III), and her only son, James Caza.

Martha has many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Martha is also survived by several siblings: Ruth Schuller of Panama City, Panama, Donald Schuller (Jo), of Michigan, Sharon Dishong (Norb) of Ohio, Lenora Kaufman of Ohio, and Arthur J. Schuller (Karen) of Florida, as well as many nieces and nephews. Visitation and Service information are pending at this time.
