Martha Ann Fort Yager September 12, 1929 – April 25, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Martha Ann Fort Yager passed away Thursday, April 25,2019 after an extended illness. She was born September 12, 1929. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, William “Bill” Morris Yager, her brother Emmett Douglas “ E.D.” Fort Jr., her sisters Alma “Ima” Fort Mc Donald, and Frances “Sister” Fort Fitzpatrick.

She is survived by her sister Sandra Fort Clayton (Sonny) and her brother Jon Royster Fort (Neysa), niece, Faye Fitzpatrick Hester and nephews, Dr.William O. Fitzpatrick (Judy), Scott Fort (Kim), David Fort (Kathy), Andrew Fort (Beth), Ben McWhorter Jr. and Ken Clayton Jr. ( Jessica). Plus numerous great nieces and nephews. Martha retired from Federal Reserve Bank in 1987, after many years of employment.

She was a huge supporter of the Pearl Harbor Survivors and the WW ll museum. The family would like to acknowledge the loving care to Martha by her dear caregivers: Ernestine “Tina” Suttle, Arneatra Brazziel, Diane Campbell and Linda Mc Millan. We are indebted to Martha’s nephew, Andrew Fort for the emotional support and endearing love given to her.

Andrew has been Martha’s guardian for the last 5 years, and has been invaluable to the family. There will be a graveside service at 2:00 P.M. May 1, 2019 at Highland Memorial Gardens: 3115 18th Ave. North, Bessemer, Al.
