Obituary for Martha Copeland Cash Martha Copeland Cash, the daughter of Ruth Deal and Spencer B. Copeland, Sr., passed away peacefully on December 24 in Washington, Pennsylvania. She is survived by her husband William (Bill) Cash of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania; daughter Laura Cash of Melbourne, Australia; her sister Rebecca O’Donnell and husband Frank of Marietta, Georgia; brother-in-law Kevin Cash, Charlottesville, Virginia; sister-in-law Susan Smith and husband Kirby, Chantilly, Virginia; and nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Spencer B. Copeland, Jr., and sister Joan Williams.

Martha was born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1952. She graduated from Irmo High School in Irmo, South Carolina. Martha attended Winthrop University and the University of South Carolina.

She worked as a technical writer for over 15 years in Austin, Texas, and the Atlanta area. She was a member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Marietta, Georgia, for over 20 years and was active on the church life committee. The church and the many friendships formed there were very important to her.

She was a loving wife, mother, and friend. Martha was a person of deep faith. She was a compassionate person who put others first.

She had a wonderful laugh. She loved her golden retrievers and cats and the South Carolina beaches. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and friends to Ireland, Northern Ireland, England, and Scotland.

She was particularly fond of a week in Paris with Bill, celebrating their 25th anniversary. Martha was a member of the Martha Stewart Bulloch chapter of the DAR, Nicholas Wallingford chapter of the Colonial Dames 17th Century, Huguenot Society of South Carolina, and First Families of South Carolina, 1670-1700. The family expresses appreciation to all those at Senior Life-Washington, Visiting Angels, Premier Washington, and Gateway Hospice who provided loving care for her.

She will be buried at Pinelawn Memory Gardens in Clinton, South Carolina on January 4 at 2:00, handled by Gray Funeral Home in Clinton. A memorial service is being held at 3:00 on January 5 at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Marietta, Georgia. A gathering for family and friends will take place on January 5 at Stem Wine Bar in Merchant’s Walk in in Marietta, starting at 4:30.
