Eckert passed away on Sunday January 20, 2019 at her residence at The Simpson House in Philadelphia, PA. She was 98. Daughter of the late Benjamin and Agnes Mansfield Eckert, she was born in Hudson, PA on August 30, 1920.

Martha was a Registered Professional Nurse and received her Bachelor of Science degree from New York University. She served her country in World War II as a Full Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps. She worked for the Veterans Administration Nursing Service at VA hospitals in Bronx, NY and Philadelphia, PA.

Martha is survived by 10 nieces and nephews and many grand nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass on Saturday January 26, 10:30 AM at St. Matthias Church 128 Bryn Mawr Ave. , Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004.

Interment will follow in SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Springfield, PA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Matthias Church, 128 Bryn Mawr Ave.
