Marvin E. Wink March 16, 1939 – January 8, 2019 Marvin E. Wink age79, died Tuesday, January 08, 2019 at St. Luke’s Hospital Cedar Rapids following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held 11:00 Friday morning, January 11, 2019 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Monticello with interment in the Oakwood Cemetery at a later date. Please join the family for lunch following the service.

Pastor Dave Raemisch will officiate. Friends may register at the church after 10:00. Goettsch Funeral Home has been entrusted with Marvin’s care and services.

Surviving are 3 children, Patti (Brian) Plath, West Des Moines, IA, Douglas (Lisa) Wink, Bettendorf, IA, Amy (Curtis Geldert) Wink, Minnetonka, MN. , 6 grandchildren, Jake and Jackson Plath, Ashley and Mitchell Wink, Anna and Molly Geldert, his brother Ted (Marilu) Wink, 2 sisters, Sandy (Fred) VonBehren, Mariane (Bill) First. He was preceded in death by his parents, and infant son, Donald Eugene, his wife Adel in 2018 and a brother, Archie.

Marvin Eugene Wink was born March 16, 1939 near Anamosa, Iowa. He was the son of Eugene and Hermina Cordes, Wink. He graduated from the Monticello Community Schools in 1957.

Marvin Wink and Adel First were married July 26, 1959 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Monticello. Marvin worked at Julin Printing for 18 years. He was later employed at Frontier Feeds before he and Adel started Marvin’s Best Pre-Mixes in 1981.

It later became Tri-Angle Ag Service in 2000. Marvin had a farm near Monticello where he and Adel raised registered Paint and Quarter Horses. Three of which were world champions.

Marvin was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church and served on the council. Marvin was a character, known for his many funny stories and jokes.

He was always generous with his time, talent and money. The family would like to thank the Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, St Luke’s Hospital ICU and Hospice for support and care given to them and their father Marvin.
