Obituary for Mary A. Bascelli (Massaro) Print Wife, Mother, Grandmom, Gram, Grammie, Matriarch, Mentor, Friend, Legend. These are some terms that define one of the most important, influential members of our family. She lived for her grandkids.

Whether you wanted to stop by to say hi or if you had something troubling you, she always had an ear to listen and years of wisdom to give advice. She had a passion for reading, gardening and family that passed down to the younger generations. Her memory was something that all of us hope to have one day, she never forgot one story or detail, no matter how big or small.

She showed tremendous strength throughout her life. Throughout all the gains and losses she endured in her lifetime, she remained the strongest member of the tribe. It is no secret gram has seen more losses than she should have, but she truly was the backbone to this loud, crazy family.

None of us would be who we are today if it was not for our Grandmom. It is a beautiful thing when one person can truly touch so many lives in her lifetime. I could say the world is a lesser place without her kind, generous, caring soul, but through the closeness of the family she created and the special bonds that she had with each of us and many more, her and her values will live on for generations to come.

Predeceased by her husband Leon Bascelli, son James Bascelli, daughter Diana Bascelli and granddaughter Lisa Bascelli. Survived by her children Leon(Rosemary) Bascelli, Edward (Donna)Bascelli and Jeannie Bascelli. Son-in-law Brian Oswald, 11 Grandchildren and 12 greatgrandchildren.
