Mary Contreras, 65 Kearney resident Mary A. Contreras, 65, of Kearney died Saturday, April 27, 2019 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Thursday, May 2, 2019 at Living Faith Fellowship Church. The Rev.

Joel Stark will officiate. Visitation will be held 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.

Condolences may be shared online at www. osrfh.com. Services are entrusted to the O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral and Cremation Services.

Mary was born September 23, 1953 in Sidney, Nebraska to Andrew and Antonia Sanchez. She was raised in Scottsbluff and received her education from Scottsbluff High School. In May of 1976, Mary was united in marriage to Ruben Contreras in Scottsbluff, NE.

The couple later moved to Kearney where she enjoyed cooking and going to garage sales. She also loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Mary attended the Living Faith Fellowship Church in Kearney.

She helped start “Life Choices” which later became “Collage”. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Ruben Contreras of Kearney; children, Lee, Kali, Aaron and Andrea Contreras, all of Kearney, and Paulina Contreras and her significant other, Mike Nickman of Riverdale; grandchildren, Drayton Contreras, Candace Grube and Adalyn Grube; brothers, Andrew Sanchez, Jr. and his wife, Carmen and Joe Sanchez and his wife, Esther, all of Scottsbluff, and Anthony Sanchez and his wife, Cindy of Omaha; sisters, Margaret Lintz and her husband John, Andrea Sanchez and Vickie Garcia, all of Scottsbluff, and Gloria Flores and her husband, Mike of Torrington, Wyoming; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother.
