Mary Alice Cimino, 83, of Houston, passed away Monday, October 1, 2018. She was born June 16, 1935, in Canonsburg, a daughter of Steve and Anna Kilian Solensky. She was a member of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Meadowlands, where she was a member of the Christian Mother’s.

Mary Alice worked making ice cream for Foremost Dairy, and later as a Teacher’s Aide at Chartiers Houston and the Intermediate Unit One. She was loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She excelled at cooking and baking, as anyone who visited their home can attest.

She loved dancing, especially polka dancing, and attended the button box jam session on Monday evenings at Strabane SNPJ with her husband, family and friends. She enjoyed playing bingo, and won often playing cards with her card club. On July 19, 1958, she married her husband Norman L. “Pete” Cimino, with whom she just celebrated 60 years of marriage, who survives.

Also surviving are her sons, Norman L. (Catherine) Cimino II, of Washington, Thomas A. (Colleen) Cimino, Houston; brothers, John (Barb) Solensky, of Canonsburg, Robert (Wilma) Solensky, of Canonsburg; 5 grandchildren, Norman A. (Kodi), Timothy (Jennifer), Matthew, Marcus, and Jacob; 6 great-grandchildren, Alex, Aubreya, Alex, Samuel, Lorenzo, and Lexi; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Dale S. Cimino, and her sister, Anna Mae Solensky, and her brother, Albert Solensky. Friends will be received Thursday 2-4 and 6-8pm, at the Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services, LTD, 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, J. David Sollon, director, 724-746-1000.

Departing prayers will be held in the funeral home, Friday, at 9:15am, followed by a Mass of Christian burial, in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Meadowlands, at 10am. Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery. The family kindly suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association or Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, in Mary Alice Cimino’s name.
