She was born in Seattle, WA on May 15, 1929 to Walter F. Clark Sr. and Regina (Marshall) Clark. Mary attended Holy Names Academy from 6th through 12th grade as a resident student following her mother’s death when she was 9 years old.

She went on to attend Seattle U and then the UW as a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority. While at Seattle U, a love of skiing introduced Mary to Leland G. Crabtree whom she married on April 30, 1949. A great sense of humor and her faith enabled them to survive the raising of 5 children.

Mary was active in Assumption Parents Club, Cub Scouts, and Campfire Girls. The family moved to Alpental Ski Area in 1968. She was an instructor & supervisor for Ski Masters Ski School for 20 years after assisting Lee when he directed Alpental Ski School.

Mary had a passion for travel, going to Europe several times, Hawaii, Canada and Mexico. She enjoyed playing piano, researching family ancestry, antiquing, finding a great bargain and spending time with her family. Mary had many friends and enjoyed hosting them in her home.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Leland, in 2006. Mary is survived by her children, Bruce, Marilee Lee, Keith, Clark (Renee’) and Carol Hammond; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 25th at 10:00am at Assumption Catholic Church 6201 33rd Ave NE, Seattle, 98115 In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Mary’s name can be made to Holy Names Academy or Alzheimer’s Association.
