Obituary for Mary Ann Carroll Mary Ann Higgins Carroll, age 70, of 406 W. Ridgeway Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at her residence. Mary Ann was born March 16, 1948 in Alleghany County, to the late Len Crew and Virginia Etta Matheney Higgins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Robert “Burt” Higgins, Ray Higgins, David Higgins, and Jimmy Higgins; two brothers-in-law, Billy Lawhorn and Chuck Lawhorn; and a sister-in-law, Angie Higgins.
She is survived by a daughter, Susie Holbert of Clifton Forge; a son, Travis Carroll of Harrisonburg; five sisters, Kay Nichols and husband Lee, Janie Lawhorn, Jeanette Angle and husband Tony, all of Clifton Forge, Marie Lawhorn of Roanoke, and Eva Tucker and husband Buzzy of Covington; four brothers, Pud Higgins, Jack Higgins, Gene Higgins, and Bugs Higgins all of Clifton Forge; a grandson, Billy Holbert; a special niece, Caitlyn Angle and her Pups, Coco and Rosie; and a number of nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at 5:00 PM at Central Advent Christian Church, Clifton Forge with Reverend Kenny Carroll officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening at the home of Susie, 231 Higgins Hollow Road, Clifton Forge, VA, following the service.
