Mary Ann L. Male, 86, of Wintersville, died peacefully Sunday, January 13, while visiting family. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, James R. Male Jr She was born February 8, 1932, in Cambridge, Ohio, the daughter of the late Eugene Heaney and Helen Jean (Evancho) Heaney.

Surviving are her three sons, James R. Male III (Genita) of Blacklick Ohio, Alan Male of Wintersville, and Andrew Male of Washington DC; a daughter, Kathryn Male of Columbus, Ohio; one grand son, James R. Male IV (Sarah) of Columbus; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Male of Chicago; a sister, Helen Jean Callan (Richard) of Walworth, New York; and a brother, Eugene Heaney (Patty) of Ormond Beach, Florida. Mary Ann graduated from Weirton High School in 1950 and briefly worked as a typist at Weirton Steel before devoting herself to being a loving wife, mother, and homemaker. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, word games, mysteries, and gardening.

She was a member of the First Westminster Presbyterian Church of Steubenville. A memorial service will be held for Mary Ann Male, who passed away on January 13, at the Mosti Funeral Home on Saturday March 9, 2019, at 12:30 p.m. The service will be presided over by Reverend Jason Elliott of First Westminster Presbyterian Church of Steubenville, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family asks others to donate to their favorite charity or religious organization.
