Mary Ann Whittington November 10, 1941 – May 08, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Mary Ann Whittington, 77, of Shepherdstown died Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at her residence under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle. Born Nov. 10, 1941 in Jefferson County, She was the daughter of Lewis Franklin Carroll, Sr. and Sarah Ann (Long) Carroll.

Mary Ann was employed with Billie’s Restaurant (Billie’s Diner) for many years as a Waitress. She was of the Methodist Faith. Mary Ann was a member of the Women of the Moose Chapter 1028, Charles Town, Shenandoah Temple 131 Pythian Sisters, Ranson and the Jackson-Perks American Legion Post 71 Ladies Auxiliary, Charles Town.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Griffith Bucher, of Shepherdstown; grandchild, Asa Brewer and Misty; great-grandchildren, Brittany Leab and husband Dalton, Asa Tyler Brewer, Hailey Renee Brewer; brother, Kenneth Carroll and wife Vicki, of Middleway and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her two husbands, George “Pete” Griffith and Russ Whittington; granddaughter, Tina Wright; sisters, Gertrude Bell and Shirley Russell; brothers, Lewis “Buzzy” Carroll, Jr. and Alec Carroll. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 13, 2019 at the Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town with the Rev.

John Lewis officiating. Interment will be private. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
