Obituary for Mrs. Mary Aspasie Gardner Mary Aspasie Auzenne Gardner Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 10, 2018 at The Truth is Ministries in Opelousas, LA, for Mary Aspasie Auzenne Gardner, 74, who entered eternal rest, Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Opelousas General Health System. Interment will be in Serenity Memorial Park. Mary Aspasie Auzenne Gardner was born on June 29, 1944 to union of Milton, Sr. and Andrea Auzenne.

Mary leaves to cherish her memory Chad Christopher (Shockia) Auzenne (son); Grandchildren Chad Devonte, Destiny and Chadarius Auzenne. Maranda Auzenne and children I’reial, A’aralyn and Ja’cyon (Great-grandchildren). Step-children Marlon Noble and Deidra (Pastor Tommy) Davis.

Mary two surviving brothers Milton Auzenne Jr. and Leonce (Tammy) Auzenne of Prairie Laurent, La. Her sister-in-laws Geneva Sam Auzenne of Plaisence, La, Jeanette Fuselier Auzenne of Prairie Laurent, La and brother-in-law Gerald Lilly of Lafayette, La. Mary’s only surviving first cousin Gloria Auzenne of Prairie Laurent, La, who was more of a sister to her than a cousin and her best friend of 43 years Shirley Petes Turner of Lake Charles, La.

Mary leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. She also leaves Ignatious “Jerrell” Carmouche who she adored and told everyone that he was her adopted grandson. Mary was honored to have 12 Godchildren Ivan Auzenne, Dessie Ledet, Pam Augustine, Michelle Dockery, Mary Ann Rowlens, Junior, Nicole Fuselier-Jackson, Precious, Rhy’lee Rose, Brandy and Tanisha, which tells a lot about her and she loved them all.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents the late Milton Sr. and Andrea Auzenne of Prairie Laurent, La; her husband Pastor Gregory Gardner of Opelousas, La; infant sisters Eva, Emily Bell Auzenne; sisters Anna Lou Auzenne, Rose Lee Auzenne and Josephine Verna “Auntie” Lilly; brothers Simeon “Mayon”, Herman “T-Boy” and Ervin “Kitty” Auzenne; God child Anthony Auzenne Sr.; mother-in-law Desiree Gardner, father-in-law Herman Gardner; sister-in-law Gwendolyn Hamms and brother-in-law Tommy Hamms. Visiting hours will be observed from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Friday, November 9, 2018 at Williams Funeral Home. Visiting hours will resume on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 8:00 AM at Williams Funeral Home.
