Mary Catherine Cathy P, January 11, 1952 — May 16, 2019

Mary Catherine “Cathy” Buchanan Page Cathy was born January 11, 1952 to James and Elizabeth Buchanan, the youngest of nine siblings. Cathy passed from this world to her Heavenly Home May 16, 2019. Cathy is survived by Husband Ronald, Daughter Misty Ann, Son Matthew, Three Grandchildren Sierra, Mya and Joseph.

She is also survived by Siblings Lela Smith (Her sons Clay and Richard Smith), Kenneth Buchanan, Steven “Freddie” Buchanan. Margaret Berryhill, as well as countless nephews, nieces, grand nephews and nieces. She was preceeded in death by Siblings Aline Herring, Glenn Buchanan Freda Eggleston and James “Gussie” Buchanan and Bobby Smith.

Cathy lived a Purpose Driven Life. Her lifelong prayer was to become a Mother and a part of a committed family. Cathy and Ron were married November 14, 1985 and Cathy immediately became wife to Ron and Mother to Matthew.

Cathy’s lifelong prayer was to have children of her own. God answered her prayer February 11, 1987 with the birth of Misty Ann. From that moment on Cathy was devoted to Misty and Matt and became Supermom.

Cathy was a person of service, not only to her children but she became the caregiver to the sick and infirmed, counselor to Misty’s preteen and teen friends. She became known as “Mama Cathy”. She bestowed her strength wisdom and hope into scores of young people who came to see her love and guidance.

She never waivered. Cathy only knew two ways of doing things, the right way and the wrong way, very little grey area with Cathy the woe be to the one who strayed from the right. She will always be remembered by her Courage, ability to speak the truth and live the truth.

Cathy’s legacy will live through the people she helped, especially the young ones she called her babies. A Celebration of Cathy’s Life will be held June 9, 2019 at the Old Chapel at Bartlett Station Municipal Center, 5868 Stage Road Bartlett, TN 38134 (By the railroad tracks) Visitation – 2:00 p.m. Services – 2:45 p.m. A reception will be held at 5885 Sycamore Manor Cv, Bartlett, TN 38134 following Services Please in lieu of flowers, a donation to the Ronald McDonald or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital would be appreciated.
