Mary Concetta (Chimera) Shuler (November 11, 1926) beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt completed her earthly journey at 2:20 AM November 16, 2018 at Mother Angeline McCrory Manor. The loves of Mary’s life, besides her deceased husband George, were the many children who benefited from her devoted care and baked goods—her seven children: Therese, Rose, Paul (Nina), Lucy, Joanie, Jay (Holly), and Pete (Kellie) — her grandchildren — Paul, Linda, Mario, Marcus, Shanice, Nikkie, Jessica, Taylor, and Kaitlin — and loving great-grandchildren. Mary’s faith was always a central aspect of her life.

She expressed it first at St Ignatius in Cleveland, and then at several Columbus parishes including St Gabriel, St Patrick, Sacred Heart, and in her later years, St James the Less. Her children have memories of their mother faithfully saying the rosary daily, and have learnt of many kindnesses that she performed that they never knew about. Mary continued her ministry even at Mother Angeline, where staff commented how much they appreciated her smile, even when she no longer communicated verbally.

Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Egan-Ryan Funeral Home 403 E. Broad St. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. James The Less Church 1652 Oakland Park Ave. Burial Resurrection Cemetery. Her children wish to thank Dr Doug Scharre for his many years of patient-centered and dedicated care, and the staff at Mother Angeline and ask that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Mother Angeline McCrory Manor, 5199 E Broad St, Columbus, OH 43214 or the Alzheimer’s Association of Central Ohio, 1379 Dublin Rd, Columbus, OH 43215.
