Obituary for Mary Clapp Bruce MARY CLAPP BRUCE, age 91, of Jefferson City, TN passed away peacefully on May 25, 2018. She was a long time active member of First United Methodist Church of Jefferson City. She loved gardening and volunteered at Jefferson City Housing Authority for 30 years.

She was a very loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Bruce; two brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her children, Patricia Wayne Bruce Denton, Gordon Jackson Bruce (Andra), Glenda Jill Bruce; grandchildren, Randall Bruce Denton (Kim), William Stewart Denton III (Robin), Case Everett Denton (Crystal), Christopher Glenn Bruce, Stephen Hayes Bruce (Meredith), Jessica Dawn Southern (Joseph), Polly Jessica Holt; great-grandchildren, Parker Denton, Lillie Denton, Conley Denton, C. J. Denton, Jaycee Jo Southern; special friend, Claire Brihn.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 27, 2018 at First United Methodist Church of Jefferson City with Rev. Lloyd Jones officiating. Graveside interment service will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.

Family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Jefferson City, 2011 Branner Avenue, Jefferson City, TN 37760, or Holston United Methodist Homes, 404 Holston Drive, Greeneville, TN 37743.
