Obituary for Mary D. Cady (Dier) MASSENA – Mary D. Cady, 97, a resident of Hidy Ave, peacefully passed away early Thursday morning, October 18, 2018 in the comfort of her home, where she was under the loving and compassionate care of her caregivers and Hospice. Mary was born June 3, 1921 in Gouverneur, the daughter of the late Fred and Edith (Cunningham) Dier. She attended school in Gouverneur before graduating from Brushton High School and later from the Miss Wallace Business School in Ogdensburg.

Mary was a statistical clerk at Alcoa, where she retired in 1982 after 39 years of service. She was an active member of the Massena First United Methodist Church. She later volunteered at the Wayne T. Moses Arthritis Clinic, Massena Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and Massena Meals on Wheels.

There are no known survivors. Funeral services celebrating Mary’s life will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 26, 2018 at the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena with Pastor Rachael Jordan, officiating. Burial will be held privately in Riverside Cemetery, Gouverneur.
