OBITUARY Mary E. McKenna February 2, 1928 – October 20, 2018 Mary E. McKenna, 90, of Sarasota FL, formerly of Westwood NJ, passed away at her home in Lake House West on October 20, 2018. Mary was born February 2, 1928 (Ground Hog Day) to Bessie and George O’Rourke and spent most of her younger years in the Bay Ridge neighborhood of Brooklyn NY. On June 15th 1949 Mary married Charles J. McKenna and settled in an apartment one floor from her mom Bessie.

A few years later they decided to move to rural Westwood, NJ where they raised Steven & Joanne McKenna. Mary worked for Scholastic Magazine Co. in Lyndhurst, NJ, until she retired. Mary is survived by her son Steven & her daughter Joanne Peterson along with seven grandchildren who loved, admired & respected this sharp, spunky and kind- hearted woman who loved her family with so much passion.

The family will receive their friends on Friday from 3-5 pm at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ. A service celebrating Mary’s life and faith will be held at the funeral on Saturday at 12 noon.
