Obituary for Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Purdue Howle Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Perdue Howle, 88, who entered into rest on Sunday, June 3, 2018, will be held at 3 o’clock on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at North Hartsville Baptist Church. The Rev. Ladell Humphries and Dr. George Howle will officiate with burial to follow in Cedar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home is serving the family. Mrs. Howle, the widow of Charles Marion Howle, was born in Chesterfield County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Frank Perdue and Mattie Oakley Perdue.

She was a member of North Hartsville Baptist Church. She was a hard-working farmer, as well as the Charter Member of “FarmHer” in Byrdtown. She loved her family and friends, loved gardening food and flowers, and also loved spending time with her Bulldog, Annie.

She is survived by her loving son, Charles Wayne (Linda) Howle, Sr. of Hartsville, SC; brother, Arthur Neil Perdue of Patrick, SC; grandchildren, Rachel H. (Gene) Morton of Swansboro, NC, Charles W. (Tammy) Howle Jr. of Florence, SC, Jason Crist of Hartsville, SC; great-grandchildren, Charles W. Howle, III of Live Oak, FL, Laynie Morton of Swansboro, NC, Asheley (Lee) Rhames of Florence, SC, Eden (Carsten) Hunt of Florence, SC; great-great grandchild, Grey Rhames of Florence, SC. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Ann (Allen) Christ; brothers, J. D. Perdue, Woodrow Perdue; daughter-in-law, Wanda Lynn Howle. Memorials may be made in her honor to North Hartsville Baptist Church, 1117 Patrick Highway, Hartsville, SC 29550.
