Curtis, 79, of Frankfort, passed away 3:21 p.m. Monday, December 31, 2018 in Adena Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. She was born November 8, 1939 in Mt. Vernon, Ohio to the late Gale and Virginia Carpenter Shrimplin.

Surviving are husband, James Curtis, of Frankfort; children, Stacey Reed, Tabitha Curtis, both of Frankfort, James “Jimmy” (Melissa) Curtis, of Ortonville, MN, Kathleen Butler, and Jay Stonerock, both of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Krystal Detty and fiancé Freelin Hall, Katie Pariscoff, Michele Detty, Jordon Curtis, Ashley Curtis, Alayna Butler and Bella Butler; seven great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Norma Shrimplin, John (Mary Jo) Shrimplin, James (Mary Kay) Shrimplin, all of Mt. Vernon, OH, Gale (Frances) Shrimplin, of Pomeroy, OH, Ronald Shrimplin, of Virginia Beach, VA, Rebecca (Jeff) Smith, of Mt. Vernon,OH, Dixie Folden and Virginia Shrimplin, both of Columbus, OH and Victoria (Andy) Bradshaw, of Virginia Beach, VA.

She was predeceased by sons, Sam and John Curtis, a brother, Grover Shrimplin and sisters, Patricia Grennell and Ruth Whit. Mary was a waitress and assistant manager for the former K-Mart. Funeral services will be held 12 noon Sunday, January 6, 2019 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Larry Leasure officiating.

Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 6-8 p.m. Saturday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Ware Funeral Home, 121 W. Second St., Chillicothe, OH 45601.
