Obituary for Mary Frances Moseley RANGER – While surrounded by her family, Mary Frances Moseley, 92, stepped into heaven on Wednesday, May 23, 2018, in Ranger, TX. Services for Mary will be at 10 AM Saturday, May 26, 2018 at the First Baptist Church, 409 Walnut St., Ranger, TX. Family and Friends will gather from 6-8 PM on Friday at Edwards Funeral Home, 211 Pine St. in Ranger.

Burial will be at the Alameda Cemetery in Eastland County Mary was born on July 28, 1925, in LaCasa, TX to Edgar Ward and Verda (Thorp) Ward. She attended Ranger Schools and was in the graduating class of 1943. As a long time Ranger resident, Mary knew and was eager to share the history of her town.

She even has a day, July 28th, proclaimed as Mary Moseley Day for the City of Ranger. Mary was a gifted piano player. From a young age and throughout her life, she generously shared her musical talent.

Her amazing gift was utilized at many churches throughout Ranger and in the surrounding areas. She was dedicated to play for Sunday Morning Church, at Ranger Care Center, for 25 years. Many knew Mary as a “walking hymnal,” because when given the title, she could play any hymn.

On March 4, 1948, in Cisco, TX, she became a devoted wife to Fred Kenneth Moseley. During their 45 years of marriage, they complemented each other as ranchers, parents, and life partners. Together, they raised five children, Randy, Elaine, Bill, Julie, and James.

She considered her children a blessing from God and truly loved each of them unconditionally. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished by her children: Fred Randall Moseley & wife, Ann of Mertzon, TX; Mary Elaine Brown & husband, Dean of Kingsland, TX; William Ward Moseley & wife, Karen of Ranger, TX; Julia Ann Wheeler & husband, Keith of Glen Rose, TX; James Edward Moseley & wife, Beth of Burkburnett, TX; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews, and all those she befriended, guided, and loved. Loved ones who proceeded Mary in death are: her husband, Fred Kenneth Moseley; father, Edgar Ward; mother, Verda (Thorp) Ward; and brother, Donald Ward.
