OBITUARY Mary Geneva Woods February 15, 1926 – July 17, 2018 Mary Geneva Woods of Birmingham, Alabama passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at the age of 92. She was born in Kentucky on February 15, 1926, to Lee & Emily Mattingly. Mary was retired from Tot Stop Daycare and Villa Maria Retirement Home.

She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Mary was loved by all who knew her and will be missed deeply. She is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, James C. Woods; her parents, Lee and Emily Mattingly; and three of her brothers, Charles Mattingly, Joseph Mattingly, and Paul Mattingly.

Left to cherish her memory are her three loving sons, Dennis (Rosemary) Woods, Stephen (Lynn) Woods, and Timothy (Joy) Woods; five grandchildren, Wendy (Steven) Johnson, Amanda Robinson, Jill Woods, Alan (Lauren) Woods, and Adam (Jennifer) Woods; along with four great-grandchildren, Ava, Riley, Seth, and Caleb. Also surviving her is her brother, Fred (Linda) Mattingly. Visitation will be at St. Barnabas Catholic Church on Friday, July 20, 2018, from 10:00 – 11:00 AM with a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM.

Burial will follow at Forest Crest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Mary’s memory to St. Barnabas Catholic Church 7921 1st Avenue North Birmingham, AL 35206.
