Carolyn Eunice Brooks was born May 7, 1944 to Mr. James Brooks and Mrs. Lizzie Dowdell Brooks. She was the sixth out of seven children. Carolyn was educated in the Birmingham City School System.

She accepted Christ at an early age as her personal Savior. She was a member of Metropolitan Community Church were she served on the adult usher board and the kitchen committee. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, (James Brooks Jr., Booker Theo Brooks), three sisters (Carrie Louise Smith, Alma Jean Sanders, and Bobby Ivory) and grandson (Antonio Brooks Jr.).

Carolyn leaves to cherish her memory her two sons: Willie James (Katrina) Brooks and Antonio Jerome Sr. (Lanitra) Brooks; one daughter, Cathy Yvette Smith; grandchildren Carlina (Marquez) Brooks, Nyaundra Jones, Anysia Brooks, Juanisha Neal, Willie Brooks Jr., Katresa Brooks; six great grand children; a sister, Eddie Dean Parmer of Louisville, Kentucky; a dear friend Tommie Blanton; a long time companion, Robert Snoddy; a host of nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends.
