Obituary for Mary Helen Tomaszewski Mary Helen Tomaszewski, 86, passed away peacefully, December 5, 2018 with her family by her side. She was born March 17, 1932 in St. Clair Twp. to the late Joseph and Anna Pozdrowski.

Mary and Zigmund were married ay Holy Rosary Catholic Church on September 17, 1955. After raising their 5 children, Mary went to work for the EOC senior meals program as a site manager in Smiths Creek. She was affectionately called Mother Mary by her “children” who came to eat their noon meal.

No one went hungry when they came to her house. She enjoyed playing cards and dominos. She cheered or jeered as the Detroit Tigers and Red Wings won or lost.

She loved spending time with her neighbors and lady friends, even if it was a quick phone call to ask, “how are you doing? ”. Mary was a longtime historian for the Smiths Creek Legion Auxiliary Unit 525.

She was also a member of the Marysville Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary Council 9526. Along with her husband Ziggy, Mary is survived by her sons, David (Christine) and Raymond (Cathy); daughter, Kathy; “little” sister, Rita Jaworski; honorary daughter, Julie Krauss; 5 grandchildren, Jason, Jennifer, Michael, Gavin, and Scott; 4 great grandchildren Bria, MaKayla, Caleb, and Oliver, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. Mary is preceded in death by her daughters, Linda and Ann Marie; sister/ brother in law, Ann and John Kozloff; brother/ sister in law, John and Pauline Pozdrowski, Pete and Ruby Pozdrowski A Funeral Mass will be Monday, December 10th at 11:00 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Clair.

Visiting hours will be Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with rosary being recited at 7 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Additional visitation one half hour at the church prior to mass on Monday. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
