Mary’s Obituary Mary Jo Allen, 79, passed away February 12, 2019. She was born in March of 1939 to the late Willie Lee and Ruby Daphine (Huff) Nichols in Tyler, Texas. She married the love of her life Leslie Roy Allen May 24, 1957 in Dallas, Texas.

Mary Jo was an administrative executive assistant with the Wilmer Hutchins ISD for 30 years. As a Deacon’s wife, she was actively involved with youth ministries and mentoring and influencing many lives throughout her life. She is remembered for her love of thrift and antique shopping, canning and cooking for others and for Sunday drives.

She is preceded in death by her dedicated parents, loving husband and sisters: Barbara Nichols and Billie McEnturff. Survivors include her cherished children: Debbie and husband Ron Oswalt of Waxahachie, Billy and wife Terri Allen of Barry, Wesley and wife Angie Allen of Ferris and Barbara and husband David Musick of Grand Prairie; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and her sister Kathey and husband Brian Mackey of Red Oak. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Friday, February 15, 2019 at Green Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be 1 PM Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Community Baptist Church: 1609 FM 664, Ferris, Texas 75125 with burial to follow at the Red Oak Cemetery, Dr. Mickey Moriarty officiating. Honored pallbearers include: John Wilk, Adren Allen, Billy Allen, Cameron Smith, David Nichols, Dylan Wilk, Andy Castellanos and Jason Clark. Memorial contributions may be made in Mary Jo’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Association.
