OBITUARY Mary Joann Burgess January 16, 1931 – October 18, 2018 Mary “Joann” Burgess, 87, of Holt, formerly Dansville, passed away October 18, 2018. She was born January 16, 1931 in Dansville, MI the daughter of Paris Henry and Mary Ellen (Swan) Witt. Joann was a devoted Mother and housewife.

She enjoyed going to the Sam Corey Senior Center in Holt, playing cards and reading. She especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren growing up and attending their school events and sports. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard G. Burgess.

Surviving are her one daughter, Karen Wall; 7 sons, Joseph, Ronald (Barbara), Edward (Susan), Douglas (Jeannie), Gordon, Scott (Barbra) and Neal (Leigh) Burgess; 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Nancy (Ted) Miller, Janice (Jerry) Ried; brother-in-law, Dale (Edna) Burgess; many cousins, nieces and nephews. Please join her family for a Gathering on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes Mason Chapel, 621 S. Jefferson St., Mason, MI 48854. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sam Corey Senior Center, 2108 Cedar St, Holt, MI 48842, Hospice of Lansing, 3186 Pine Tree Rd.
