OBITUARY Mary K Grenewetzki May 10, 1921 – September 7, 2018 Mary (Bandrofchak) Grenewetzki, 5/10/1921 – 9/7/2018 Peoria, Arizona On Friday, September 7,2018, Mary (Bandrofchak) Grenewetzki, loving wife and mother of two children, passed away at the age of 97. Mary, the youngest of ten children, was born on May 10, 1921 in Ann Arbor, Michigan to Andrew and Katherine Bandrofchak. She graduated from Ann Arbor High in 1940 alongside her nephew Alex Lenio.

She met her husband-to-be Virgil Grenewetzki, on a blind date in Ann Arbor where he was a student and they were married one year later on June 18, 1949. They raised two children, David and Susan. Following their wedding, Mary and Virgil lived in Michigan (Dearborn, Lansing and Ludington) and Toledo, Ohio before moving to Walnut Creek, California in 1960.

Following Virgil’s retirement in 1982, they moved to Arizona, first to Sun City West and then Peoria. Mary was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan (Moore) and her siblings John, Mike, Joe, Nick, Alfred, Dan, Mildred (Lenio), Tillie (McAdam) and Helen (Kubly). She is survived by her husband Virgil, her son David, grandchildren Allison, Jennifer, Kelley, Matt and Peter, great-granchildren Beatrice, Henry and Otis as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

A private family memorial will be held for Mary. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent to Phoenix Children’s Hospital in her name.
