Mary Lou Braithwaite Daley from West Mountain passed away Thursday June 7, 2018 at Seasons of Santaquin Care Center in Santaquin Utah, at the age of 81 from heart failure. Mary Lou was born November 30, 1936 in Payson Utah to Eugene Braithwaite and Ruby Lilly Schramm Braithwaite. She was the baby of 5 children, Glen, Don, Marie and Anna Mae.

She grew up in Payson and was involved in plays, choir and worked at the Huish Theatre and Star Theatre that her father managed. She married her High School sweetheart, David Gerald Daley July 22, 1955. They were sealed in the Mesa Arizona Temple November 30, 1956.

Dave passed away July 13, 2012. Mary Lou and David had 6 children, Dean (Jean) Daley of West Mountain, Denise (Tad) Kehl of Vincent Ohio, Darlene (Dennis) Carlisle of Genola, Brad (Wyn) Daley of Pleasant Grove, TraceyLou (Robbin) Mullen of Sandy, Brent (Megan-divorced) of Price. They have 30 grandchildren and 34½ great-grandchildren.

They have lived in various places in Arizona, California and Utah. Building their home and settling in West Mountain in 1973 on their farm which brought them, their children and grandchildren many happy memories. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing.

She also was an excellent seamstress and loved to crochet, quilt, and embroider; all skills she learned from her sweet mother. She learned to be an excellent cook, and was very artistic. She was a Beautician and owned and operated Mary Lou’s Beauty Salon in Payson for many years.

She served in many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Some she loved most was being a Seminary teacher in Loomis, CA, Stake and Ward YW leader, Gospel Doctrine teacher and Ward and RS Chorister. She is survived by her 6 children, and brother Don Braithwaite.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 siblings, husband, grandchild Terra Daley and daughter-in-law Janna Critchfield Daley. There will be a viewing Friday June 15th from 6-8 pm at the Brown Family Mortuary, 66 South 300 East Santaquin and Saturday 9:45-10:45 am at the West Mountain Church, 5237 W 10400 S, Payson prior to the funeral service at 11:00 am. Interment, Payson City Cemetery.
