Obituary for Mary Margaret Spadafore (Book) Mary Margaret (Book) Spadafore, 76, of Shinnston, passed away Friday, March 15, 2019 at United Hospital Center following an extended illness. She was born September 3, 1942, a daughter of the late Sam and Mary Marino Book of Shinnston. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Spadafore on May 23, 2015.

She was also preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Hayes and brothers, John, Frank, Sam, Roland and Stanley Book. She is survived by two sisters, Rose Marie Harrison (Paul) of Mineral, Virginia, and Patricia Ann Edwards (Vernon) of Maitland, Florida, along with brothers Rudy Book, Donald “Buzzy” Book (Mary Mae) and David Book (Renee), all of Shinnston. Survivors include cousins, nieces and nephews, too numerous to mention.

Mary Margaret was a devout member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Shinnston where she had been an Adorer at Blessed Margaret of Castello Eucharistic Adoration Chapel, and had been a member of a tightly knit “kitchen crew” who prepared funeral dinners, as well as dinners for a variety of occasions at St. Ann’s. Mary Margaret also delivered Meals on Wheels in the community. Mary Margaret began her working career in September 1976 at the Bank of Shinnston.

In 1996 she continued her banking career at Heritage Bank in Clarksburg. In March of 1999 she worked as a consumer loan officer at WesBanco in Clarksburg. Family will be received friends at Harmer Funeral Home, 300 Pike Street, Shinnston on Monday 03/18/19 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

A prayer service will be held on Monday 3/18/2019 at 7:30 P.M. A Catholic Funeral Liturgy service will be held at St. Ann’s Catholic Church on Tuesday 3/19/2019 at 10:30 AM with Reverend Jude Perera as celebrant. Interment will follow at Shinnston Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Blessed Margaret of Castello Eucharistic Adoration Chapel at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 43 Mahlon St., Shinnston, WV 26431.
