Mary Ruth, the daughter of Mason and Flavia Stark and was born on February 18, 1924, in Merryville, LA. Visitation will begin Saturday, February 16, 2019, from 11 AM until Funeral Service begins at 2:00 PM, in Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA with Rev.

Lindsey Burns officiating. Interment will follow at Beauregard Cemetery, DeRidder, LA. Mary Ruth graduated from Merryville High and McNeese.

She was a member of First Baptist Church since 1966, Beauregard Hospital Auxiliary since 1997, and Louisiana Retired Teachers Association. She was Librarian for 23 years at DeRidder Elementary and Hanchey Elementary. Mary Ruth loved her Lord and family, a fervent prayer warrior, and spent many hours enjoying reading a variety of books.

Left to cherish her memory are her stepdaughters, Fonda Oliver and husband Danny, June Wells and husband Jerry, Jo Lynn Perry and husband Carl; stepsons, Dale Bird and wife Joanne; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her first husband, Irvin Bird, second husband, Percy Duplissey; stepdaughter, Marsha Campbell; sisters, Naomi Krom, Elizabeth Faust; and brothers, Lawrence Stark, Paul Stark, Leonard Stark, Mancel Stark, and David Stark. In lieu of flowers the family ask you to consider making a donation to the First Baptist Church of DeRidder, Building Fund, 2030 Hwy 171, DeRidder, LA 70634.
