Mary Virginia Spiegel Hall, age 77, of Lincoln, Delaware, went home to be with the Lord on November 6, 2018 with her loving family by her side. Mary was born on March 30, 1941 in Mount Vernon Hospital in Westchester County, New York. She was a graduate of The Academy of Our Lady of Good Counsel in 1959 and Dunbarton College of Holy Cross in 1963.

She married James Joseph Hall in September of 1964. They lived in Silver Spring, Maryland and had four children. Mary was a wonderful homemaker and also worked as a Management Analyst for the Department of Health and Human Services.

Mary was an Election Judge, Notary Public, Committee Chairperson of St. Rose of Lima annual church plant sale, volunteered in the Rosary Group at Milford Place, and she was also very active in her home parish of St. John the Apostle Church as President of the St. John / St. Bernadette Pro-Life Committee, Parish Council Member, and an invaluable member of St. Vincent De Paul Society. Mary loved God, her family, and friends. She was a kind, loving, nurturing mother, grandmother, and friend who will be truly missed.

Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Joseph Hall; parents, Valentine George Spiegel and Mary Virginia Moffett; brothers, Francis (Frank) Spiegel, John (Jack) Spiegel, Gerard (Jerry) Spiegel, and Valentine Spiegel. Survivors include her brother, Joseph (Joe) Lawrence Spiegel and wife Anne L. Zanetti; daughter, Mary Ann Hall; sons, James Raymond Hall, Brian David Hall and wife Ann Marie Taylor, and Michael Joseph Hall; grandchildren, Connor Daniel Hall and Deidra Marie Hall; foster grandchild, Kaylee Monturano; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. A funeral mass will be held at St. John the Apostle Church at 506 Seabury Avenue, Milford, Delaware 19963 on November 10, 2018 at 11:00am.

A reception with food, music, and testimonies will follow in the Parish Hall. Instead of sending flowers, the family requests that Bibles be donated “In Memory” of Mary Virginia Hall. “In Memory” cards are available online at sendtheword.org.
