Mary Whalen age 82. Retired School Teacher, Skokie District 68. Beloved daughter of the late Edward P. Whalen and Elizabeth nee Roach.

Dear granddaughter of the late James H. Whalen, Mary Ann Dempsey, Samuel Roach and Mary Ellen McEvoy. The fun loving and generous Aunt to 25 nieces and nephews. Many generations will remember Mary’s summer pool parties, big family Christmas parties and so many other great times.

She inspired us to be happy and optimistic people. We can’t think of Mary and not remember her smile and fun-loving laugh. Mary was preceded in death by her brothers Ed, Bill, Jim, Tom and John(Dolores).

Also nephews Ed and Michael Robert and niece Mary Chris. She is survived by sister-in-law Joan, Bernie and Sharon. Aunt to Karen Marx, Bill, Christopher, Deb Hughes and Mark.

Mary Peters, Michael, Peter, Ann Brinkman and Beth Grogan. Amy, Jeanne, Patrick and Emily Normandi, Mary Beth Mueller, John, Laura Wilkerson, Julie Jenkins, Tim, Eileen Mantych, Karen Graham and Kathleen Crews. Visitation Friday, May 4th from 10am until time of Mass, 11am at St. Gertrude Church 1420 W Granville Avenue,(corner Granville & Glenwood Ave) Chicago.
