OBITUARY Maryann Wheat September 12, 1964 – December 22, 2018 NORTH CHARLESTON – Maryann Wheat passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2018 in Columbia, SC, after a long battle with appendix cancer. She was a dear daughter of George T. Wheat and Sandra Wilson Wheat; dear sister to Sherry Wheat Hatcher, Tammy R. Wheat, and TJ Wheat; dear aunt to Dalane Williamson and Paul Joe Hatcher; dear great aunt to Kaleb Allen Lewis, Hannah Lewis, Madison Lewis, and Joey Hatcher; a loving partner to Heidi Taylor and Mom to her four-legged fur babies, KatieAnn Wheat and Franky. A lifelong resident of Charleston, SC, Maryann worked 20+ years as a Machinist at Showa Denko Carbon.

She attended Stall High School and pursued her engineering degree at Charleston Trident Technical College. Maryann loved everyone she met, and always tried to make others smile. She was a true warrior in her battle with appendix cancer, and would want memorials made to Appendix Cancer Research.

Maryann would want all her family and friends to know how much their love got her through all the sick days, and how much she loved them back. She would want to thank the staff at SC Oncology Associates for the care that she received.
