Obituary for Maryann Penna Maryann Penna, 94, of Pittsfield, MA, passed away November 28, 2018 at Hillcrest Commons. Born on November 17, 1924, in Polia, Calabria Italy, the daughter of Antonio and Caterina Malta Salatino. She attended schools in Italy.

She was married to the late Joseph R. Penna for 61 years. Maryann was a seamstress by trade, but her cooking skills were unsurpassed. She was previously employed at Berkshire Medical Center.

She leaves behind her children, daughter Elizabeth DiNicola (Al); sons, Joseph A. Penna (Teresa), Anthony Penna (Josephine), Gerard Penna, James Penna and Paul Penna (Fenton); two brothers, Anthony Salatino and John Salatino; nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and many loving nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters in-law. She was predeceased by her brother Joseph and sister Angelina. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Hillcrest Commons for the motherly care and love Maryann received throughout her stay there.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Mrs. Penna will be held, Wednesday, December 5, 2018 with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00am at St. Mark Church, celebrated by Msgr. Michael Shershanovich and Rev. Christopher Fedoryshyn, Administrator.

Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling hours will be held, Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at St. Mark Church from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to St. Mark Church Family Sponsorship Program, or the charity of your choice, in care of Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
