Mary Etta Richards, 93, of Blanchester, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on December 25, 2018 surrounded by family. Born June 12, 1925 in Blanchester, Ohio, daughter of Forest Hawthorne and Carcinnia (nee Whitacre) Hawthorne. She was involved in several organizations including: OES, American Legion Auxiliary, two bridge clubs, and the 20th Century Club.

Mary was also a faithful member of the Second Creek United Methodist Church. Mary was the beloved mother of Forest Ray (Jean) Richards, Rancel W. (the late Shirley Mae) Richards II, Ranetta (Joe) Bhuvasorakul, and Celia Mae (Jim) Ward; loving grandmother of 9, proud great-grandmother of 16; dear sister of Alberta Lavone Trochelman; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Rancel W. Richards I; sisters, Thelma Mae and Joan Laverne; brothers, Forest Earl, Raymond Eugene, and Carl Arthur.

The funeral service will be held at 12pm on Monday, December 31, 2018 at Tufts Schildmeyer Family Funeral Home, 120 W. Main St, Blanchester, Ohio, where friends will be received from 10am until the time of service. Interment will take place at Second Creek Cemetery, Blanchester, Ohio. Memorial donations may be directed to the American Legion Auxiliary 179, 318 E. Main St., Blanchester, Ohio 45107.
