OBITUARY Maryon Gail Houser January 10, 1940 – December 21, 2018 Gail Hendrix Houser, 78 of Charlottesville, VA , born in Mocksville, NC to Elgin and Betsy Hendrix passed away on December 21, 2018. She graduated from Davie County High School then went on to complete her education at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC with a degree in education. Gail taught 4th grade at Old Town in Winston-Salem, NC and at Sampson Elementary in Kinston, NC.

She is a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Charlottesville, VA where she also served as a teacher and the Director of the preschool for many decades until her retirement. Gail was a member of the church choir and the Lioness Club until her health began to diminish. She is survived by her husband of 53 years Jim Houser.

Children Jeffery and Jennifer Houser with her grandchildren Benjamin, Elizabeth, Johnathan and William, also Melyssa and John Newman, and Justin and Kelly Houser with Gail’s’ grandchildren Jesse, Kirsty, Jeremy, Kaitlyn and Kodi. She is also survived by countless other family and friends. Gail would like to extend her great appreciation for all those who have helped and supported her and her family during her illness.

She is requesting any memorials be made to the First Presbyterian Church Preschool and the local SPCA. The family will receive friends from 3-5pm on Sunday December 23, 2018 at Teague Funeral Home 2260 Ivy Rd Charlottesville, VA 22903. Funeral services will be held at 10am on Monday December 24, 2018 at the First Presbyterian Church 500 Park St. Charlottesville, VA 22902 with Pastor David Forney officiating.

Interment will be held at Rose Cemetery in Mocksville, NC at a later date.
