Obituary for Masuko “Mary” Bailey Masuko (Mary) Yamada Bailey, age 92, of Tyrone passed away peacefully at her residence surrounded by her family on Wednesday, January 9, 2019. She was born in Kyoto, Japan on January 03, 1927 and was the daughter of Asakichi and Hama Yamada. On April 18, 1948, she married Harry Anton Bailey and they had four children.

Mrs. Bailey retired from AAFES and Kroger. She was preceded in death by her husband on August 15, 1986; son, Edward George Bailey, II on March 7, 2011. She is survived by her daughters, Anna Hanson and her husband Randy of Sharpsburg; Virginia (Ginny) Phipps and her husband Bill of Tyrone; Patricia “Patty” Smith and her husband Hamp of Alpharetta; grandchildren, William and Kay Phipps; Mary and Brent Ellis; Bailey and Nicole Schaeffer- Smith; Tad Smith; Lauren Hanson and Alex Hanson and great grandson, Liam Phipps.

Mrs. Bailey also has surviving members in Japan including her 2 brothers, Hideo and Yoshiko Yamada; Takao and Masae Yamada; sister, Tatsuno Amano and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 2 o’clock in the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Akins officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park.
