Mathilda “Tilly” Rosaline Olson, 94, of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, passed away Friday, April 27, 2018 at Diamond Cove Healthcare in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas. She was born in St. Ansgar, Iowa on June 4, 1923, daughter of the late Otto Emile and Mathilda “Groth” Tesch. Tilly spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

She was united in marriage to James Clifford Olson in Rockford on August 19, 1974. Tilly was a member of AARP and the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church both in Horseshoe Bend. During her working years she was a cook for the Carpenter, Iowa school district.

Tilly is survived by her sons, Ronald Dean Carter of Yuma, Arizona, Curtis Edward Carter of Des Moines, Iowa, and Bryan Keith Carter of Pembroke Pines, Florida; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband James Clifford Olson; parents, Otto and Mathilda Tesch and sisters, Elizabeth Rohne, Margaret Murphy, Matie Torney, Elsie DeckLever and Agnes DeckLever and brothers, Otto Tesch, Alvin Tesch and Rudolph Tesch. No services are planned at this time.
