Matthew J. Dowd, 49, died on Tuesday, March 5, 2019. Born in Holyoke, he was raised in Wilbraham and graduated from Minnechaug Regional High School. Matt worked as a Union carpenter for over 20 years and he enjoyed coaching his son’s baseball and football teams.

Matt is survived by his wife Josephine Gallagher-Dowd, sons Tyler and Griffin Dowd, one beautiful granddaughter Ava “Bugs” Dowd, his parents James and Susan (Miccoly) Dowd, brother Peter Dowd, sisters: Jennifer Bartolucci, Bonnie Skiver and Susan Krawczyk and his step children Lexi and Zach. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1-3 PM concluding with a Prayer Service at 3 PM at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd. , Wilbraham.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dowd Children’s Educational Fund, c/o People’s Bank, 201 North Main St., East Longmeadow, MA 01028.
