Obituary for Mattie Skelley Mattie (Sweerus) Skelley, 90, a life-long resident of Wallington, passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2018. Mattie worked as a Telephone Directory Assistant for Verizon in Rutherford for 20 years retiring in 1988. She was a parishioner of Wallington Presbyterian Church in Wallington.

She was the beloved wife, of 53 years, of the late John Skelley Sr., devoted mother of Dorothy Lezajski, of Pine Brook and John “Jack” Skelley Jr. and his wife Sharon, of Oakland, loving grandmother of Steven Lezajski, Erin Hartman, Elizabeth Lezajski, Katie McDonnell and John Skelley III, caring great-grandmother of Connor Hartman, Emily Lezajski, John and Ivan Lezajski twins, and dear sister of the late Marjorie Briggs, Tessie Bonnema, Cornelia Mihaylo, Annette Bullis, Dorothy Sweerus, and Marie Mae Bielecki, long-time family friend Stephen Puterko and Mattie’s beloved cat, Fluffy.
